Let’s cut to the chase,
There was a time this year when I was running pmclounge.com – making videos, writing articles, doing social media, doing project mgmt. consultations, sending newsletters, conducting classes & everything else you can think of that is required to run a YouTube channel. AND also making sure shoaibqureshi.in is up and running which comes with its own set of blogs, podcast, social media. AND overseeing the plan & progress of interiors of my new apartment. Not to forget the paperwork and formalities buying a new property brings along.
ALL THIS while doing the essential stuff you cannot live without such as having a full time job and a life of course that demands you dedicate time & attention to family, friends and your own health & wellbeing. I thought I was in my peak hustle zone only to realize later that I wasn’t giving my 100% to many of these daily activities. Perhaps I had spread myself too thin. So I decided to bring in the Eisenhower matrix, doing only the stuff I had the time, energy & the ability to focus on. As things cooled down and the interiors got completed, I realized how some of the tasks related to managing my websites that I was carrying in my recurring To Do list were irrelevant and outdated. There was no downside in discarding them. This kicked off a reprioritizing exercise resulting in a leaner and more meaningful set of tasks that can help me follow my passion, feel good about it and make profit while doing so.
Bottomline – Don’t worry if you are falling behind and not able to do everything you want to. Its important to timely take a pause and reflect, not doing so will set you up for a burnout!
